Numerical Investigation on Mechanism of Swirling Flow of the Prefilming Air-Blast Fuel Injector

Prefilming air-blast atomizers are widely used in modern gas turbine combustors. Due to insufficient awareness of the coupling mechanism multi-stage swirling flow turbines, there is a lack effective methods for field optimization combustor. In this study, effect some critical parameters on prefilming atomizer was analyzed with CFD. The include angle and number first swirler blades, second blades sleeve. Furthermore, two-stage airflows discussed. Moreover, influence interaction between counter characteristics explained. results show that increase SNi, axial length primary recirculation zone decreased, while radial width increased. starting position (PRZ) moves forward SNo. Reducing sleeve β helps form zone. indicate it transition tangential velocity airflow promotes formation PRZ. These provide theoretical support swirl
